Neighbors for neighbors
Yesterday’s post about the Neighborhood Chalk project led me to NeighborsForNeighbors. It’s a pretty cool example of a community dashboard site, like we talked about in So you want to start a listserv. Based in Boston, NFN combines a message board with an event calendar and municipal data like crime reports. It seems like there is a critical mass of users of the Jamaica Plain neighborhood, which is the kind of indie neighborhood where something like this would really take off. If you’re interested in how one of these works, check it out.
